You're right. I'm misread everything I was looking at for that, including your last comment. Ok, so the Wicked Awards, the only other awards I know that's set up like what we're trying to do, has long fic set as anything over 16,000 words. (Makes more sense when my brain is working.) I think we can go higher for the words limit in the other categories since it is unlikely we will have as many nominations to deal with. I'm going to set it at 25,000 words for now. We can discus it more if anyone feels like that won't work.

Best character vid [Another Hero Award]
[The Real Me Award]  I want to snatch AH Award for another category.
All fanvids in this category should be about character. These are character studies in video form, either set to music or not. They must be about ASH-bases life-forms. Crossover vids are allowed only if the majority of focus is on ASH characters.



Best story vid [Messin’ with Magic Award]

All fanvids in this category must tell a story. It can be a retelling of events from a show, two characters falling in love, or clips put together to make an original story. Crossovers are allowed as long as a main character is Ash-based.



Best Tony tribute vid [Staring at the Sun Award]

All fanvids in this category must be a tribute to Tony Head himself. Character clips are fine as long as the video is dedicated to Tony Head the actor and not the character he played.



Fan Pick (Voted) [Under My Skin Award]

This is a voted category. All fanvids from the other categories are automatically entered and the one with the most votes wins Fan Favorite for the year.

Best Graphic [One Man’s Rain Award]

All entries must be computer generated graphics, banners, or screen cap/gif sets (Tumblr). They can focus on either an ASH-based character, or Tony Head himself.

[Eye of the Beholder Award] I admit it's not very original and it breaks the theme, but at least it makes sense for the category.

Best Smut fic [The Siren Award] or [Good Squirm Award] or [Call Me Ripper Award]
My two cents, Good Squirm is the best of the three.  Siren is too remote a reference (yeah I know it was my reference) and Call me Ripper tends to limit what kind of Smut a little more.
All fic entries most focus on Giles in a pairing, threesome, or moresome. These are the sexy PWP stories. Ratings should be FRM or FRAO (R or NC17).



Best Characterization [The Rather British Award]

Entries may be either gen. or romance. This category is for the best characterization of Rupert Giles. All ratings accepted. Crossovers allowed.



Best Dark fic [The Dark Age Award]

All entries must be dark fiction. These stories should focus on evil or dark subjects (torture, rape, death, ect…), Evil Giles, or Vampire Giles. All ratings accepted.

[Giles Shorts Award] We'd have to square this with the keepers of Giles Shorts on LJ, but hey, that might be a way to get more people involved, besides, it's just such an awesome name.

Hey Proto. I'm so sorry I never noticed your latest suggestion. I am adding them to the main post.

I am using my veto on changing the Another Hero Award placement. First, it's in the vid section because it's a song on the album, and it fits very well. And Second, we now have two good choices for the OC Gen award. I'm having a weird protectiveness of section themes right now.

Also, I was having your thought about the Shorts. I'd like to see what gets nominated on these first. If we get lots, we'll break them up. But, as of now, I'm going to have to stretch my judges thin as it is. I don't want to add categories unless we have to. (BTW, the owner of Giles' Shorts is one of our mods. I think she'd be on board if we needed to steel the name.)
